About the Recycling Program

Recycle Trailer Locations:

  • Thedford

    • Upper Loup NRD

      • Trailers available for cardboard, paper, plastics, and aluminum/tin drop off

      • Totes available for glass and electronics drop off

  • Mullen

    • Day Spring Bank

      • Alkaline battery and printer ink tub

    • Village Drop off Site

      • Trailer for plastics and tin

      • Totes available for glass and electronics

  • Hyannis

    • Hyannis High School Parking Lot

  • Halsey

    • Trailer located in town for cardboard, plastics

  • Brownlee

  • Purdum

  • Stapleton

Accepted Items:

  • Plastics

    • Must be plastics numbered 1-7

      • You can find this number usually somewhere on the packaging

      • Please rinse out your plastic recyclables!

      • Caps and labels do not need to be removed

    • Any hard to recycle plastic such as plastic bags, plastic cutlery, styrofoam, wrappers, etc will need to go inside of an orange Hefty Energy Bag in order to be accepted

  • Cardboard

    • PLEASE break down any boxes it really helps cut down on space in our trailers

  • Paper

    • Magazines, printer paper, newspapers, etc

    • Shredded paper will need to be bagged before being dumped into a trailer

  • Aluminum/tin

    • Please rinse these items out

    • Labels do not need to be removed

  • Glass

    • Please make sure glass is rinsed out

    • Needs to go in proper tote that is designated for glass

      • Mullen drop off site has a tote

      • Thedford NRD office has a tote

    • Does not need to be separated by color

  • Electronics

    • It needs to be able to fit inside of the tote to be accepted PLEASE do not sit any items on the ground next to the tote we will not recycle it

      • Totes can be found at Mullen Drop off site as well as the NRD office in Thedford

  • Batteries

    • We accept alkaline batteries

      • Please come into our office to recycle batteries

      • First State Bank in Mullen has a drop off box
