Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE)

Date: June 23-26, 2024

Location: Kamp Kaleo, Burwell, NE

This overnight camp is for individuals that have completed 6th and 7th grade during the 2023-2024 school year. Students who want to learn more about Nebraska’s natural resources through hands-on investigation, exploration, and discovery. The Upper Loup NRD provides 5 scholarships to send youths in our District to ACE.

Core sessions covered at camp:

• Forestry

• Soils

• Water

• Wildlife

• Range

Additional sessions can vary but in the past we have had:

• Entomology

• Edible Plants

• Outdoor Survival

• Weather

• Archery

• Outdoor cooking

• Archeology

• Technology

and many more!

While learning about our natural resources is an important part of camp, we can’t forget about all the fun camp activities!

Camp activities can include:

• Tubing

• Nature hikes

• Fishing

Range Camp

June 3rd-6th, 2024

Chadron, NE

This camp is for individuals 14-18 years old who wish to learn about range management, plant identification, grazing practices, and more. The camp is located at Chadron State College in Chadron, NE. The Upper Loup NRD provides scholarships to students who wish to attend.
